THE MULTIPLE PERSONS OF THE GOD OF ISRAEL
I've been meditating about the
PERSON of God who is presently here with us - compared with the god of Islam
who says he doesn't have a son. In other words, he also doesn't have a body
to take up on earth. He is just a demon floating around out there, with a
rock in Mecca to serve as his body.
I arrived at this line of thinking
from my view of the Trinity of God:
God(s) (Elohim) said, "let us create
man in our image". We (man) are body, soul and spirit, consequently,
that's also what God is constituted of: Body (Yeshua), Soul (Father) and
Spirit - the One who is here with us now.
I'm sure God appeared as Yeshua
to, for instance Abraham - check what is said about the three men who visited
him: he eventually called the One LORD = God.
Interesting to me is that our soul
needs input from our spirit to be creative and to control our emotions, and
I think it's the same with God the Father. We need to operate in the Spirit
to give him input of our feelings, worship, needs, aspirations, etc. A good
example of this is the way Moses acted via his anointing with the Spirit
to change God's mind, e.g. not to destroy his people.
From there, I arrived at studying
the awesome power and scope of the Spirit Yeshua has enabled us to have with
us, in us. It's sevenfold, but I can only find 6 of them, perhaps it works
the way I set out in the table below.
Point is, our persons need to be
in balance. Carnal man is all body, he hardly knows he has a spirit; some
people are just thought machines or emotions and their bodies don't mean
anything to them. The soul types are just involved with their own
thoughts and things they dream up, even diseases they think they have,
etc.
Others are spiritually controlled, but by the wrong
spirits, consequently they are demon possessed.
No, we need to be all spirit, but
from the Spirit of God, to make us normal balanced people, conscious of our
bodies and what they need or don't need - like inhaled smoke; with
joy in the Lord and creative minds and controlled emotions. Above all, anointing
with talent and ability to do what we need to do - like the craftsmen who
built the Tabernacle and the Temple.
Isaiah 11: 1 A
shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will
bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the LORD
will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of
understanding, the Spirit of counsel and
of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear
of the LORD--
